This is Robert (Rob), the latest volunteer to become a qualified member of the Footplate Crew, becoming a Driver's Assistant, a vital role when operating heritage stock.

He is one of EHR's youngest members and a much needed addition to the team, showing that heritage railway welcomes an injection of youth.

Well done Robert!

Elsecar Heritage Railway volunteers have been attending Rotherham Show 2018.

From their website:

Rotherham Show offers you a fantastic mix of entertainment, live music and loads of activities for a great weekend, all wrapped up in the beautiful surroundings of Clifton Park.

Whether it’s foot tapping in The Music Marquee, showing off your baking prowess in the Horticultural Show, browsing the many stalls, entering your furry friend into the Companion Dog Show or enjoying a mouth-watering treat, this family-friendly weekend won’t disappoint.

Don’t forget that you can also visit the Museum over the weekend and use the amazing play area facilities in the park.

Our volunteers have been chatting to attendees about how they can help by volunteering at South Yorkshire's only Heritage Railway.

The event is on the 8th and 9th September, so why not join them and see what you can offer!
