Tickets have today come on sale for our unique partnership event with University Campus Barnsley.
In October and November 2018 the students are marking the end of World War One, 100 years ago, by recreating the 'journey home' of millions of men and women from the front.
Tickets for Home from the Front include a 25 minute train journey, on which you'll find local people telling the real life stories of villagers from Elsecar, Wentworth and Hoyland who served in, or supported the war effort.
You'll ride in a period railway carriage, visiting especially for the event, and be pulled by locomotive No.813 which was built in Leeds in 1901, and now returns to Yorkshire for the first time in many years.
This historic site will bustle with characters and memories, recreating life in South Yorkshire a century ago.
Tickets are expected to sell quickly for this truly unique event.
